Beautify a can for cheap and easy storage!

For storage needs, look no further than your recycling bin. Just wash out an empty can, remove the label, and use pliers to bend down the sharp edge.

I am a real sucker for little containers. I have them all over the place – they are a cute way to store knick-knacks like coins, earrings, etc. Here this tuna can is housing my collection of soda tabs.

Newspaper is an unexpected and cute material to reuse. I used rubber cement to glue it to the can, and then made a little flower design out of construction paper. I made the butterflies from an old painting that I never finished with a butterfly-shaped hole punch.

Regular size cans are great for office supplies.

I decorated these cans with tissue paper squares and used Mod Podge to glue it together. You can experiment and cover the entire can, or just a small portion. This also works extremely well with glass containers.
